What Twitter Accounts are Bots?

When you log into Twitter and you notice someone has followed you do they appear to be bots? One way to tell if they are bots is to check  their posts. Do they appear to be unique or bland?

Another way to check if an account is a bot is to follow them. If they instantly follow you back and send you a message they are probably bots. Now these accounts are still used by its owner but it is maintained by a bot. You want to avoid these accounts because they don't benefit you. They don't care for your tweets or what you like etc..

Some bot accounts are used to advertise. They automatically tweet about products with a link. This is a way for the owner to earn money from Twitter. These bot accounts are useless to you. They may follow you but they don't read your tweets or share them.

When following new people try to avoid bots. They are one of the many problems with Twitter and you are better off avoiding it.
